MINNEAPOLIS, MN — An international bakery operator is getting ready to move dirt on a distribution center in Savage.
Plans call for a 15,725-square-foot Bimbo Bakeries USA distribution facility on a 4.2-acre parcel in the city's Eagle Creek Business Park. Twenty-three employees are expected to work in the building.
The city has approved site plans and the project team is working to get a building permit, according to Bryan Tucker, planning manager for the city of Savage.
Tucker said it's one of the last vacant parcels in the Eagle Creek Business Park.
The bakery project appeals to the city because it will generate some jobs and it's a "nice-looking building," he said. "We think it's a good fit for the area."
