California's Bosch Baking Enjoys Benefits Of Coachella Valley Enterprise Zone

THOUSAND PALMS — Bosch Bakery distributes more than 600 dozen hamburger and hot dog buns and 1,000-plus loaves of bread in a day, so choosing the right bakery and location was key.

Even though the family bakery and wholesale distributor ships 150 different kinds of bakery goods as far as San Diego and Yuma, Ariz., owners Jos and Diane Bosch wanted a midpoint in the Coachella Valley so they could better service their core customers that include delicatessens, restaurants and country clubs.

“Right now, we're trying to get ‘The Baker's Wife' retail line of breads in some of the supermarkets,” said Jos Bosch, a third-generation master baker.

The couple also chose the location in Thousand Palms because it was in the Coachella Valley Enterprise Zone, which enables them to qualify for state tax credits.
