Chicago's Gonnella Baking Expanding After Local Tax Incentives

Chicago-based Gonnella Baking Co. said Thursday it is expanding its frozen dough storage plant in Schaumburg and hiring at least five people, thanks to a local incentive package worth more than $400,000.

The company plans to add more storage and office space to its 80,000 square feet facility, located at 1117 E. Wiley Rd. The addition would be about 30,000 square feet, said Matt Frank, Schaumburg’s economic development coordinator. The company is expected to break ground next week.

The incentives come in the form of the Cook County Class 6B real estate tax incentive, which reduces the property-assessed value over 12 years.
