This certification is globally recognized as a benchmark for the food safety industry. In order to qualify for this achievement, businesses must receive certification on an ongoing basis; must adhere to strict guidance documents for their specific food industry sector; and must meet a third-party assessment to verify adherence to the rigorous requirements of the SQF Code.
According to Director of Corporate Services Gloria Russett, the SQF certification can be likened to the “Good Housekeeping” seal of approval, and will let purchasers know how committed DeIorio’s is to the quality of their products and procedures. “In order to obtain this certification, DeIorio’s first submitted to a pre-audit, and then a document review,” Russett said. “Finally, there was a facility audit which was a full three-day process. We were pleased that there were no major or critical non-conformities.”
