Miller Baking Co. is requesting $1.4 million in loans from the Milwaukee Economic Development Corp. to help finance equipment purchases and a 13,000-square-foot addition to its satellite facility on Milwaukee’s northwest side, where it will relocate production of its popular Pretzilla soft pretzel buns from its downtown headquarters, according to an MEDC document.
Miller Baking expects to add 24 jobs within two years to its current staff of 49 full-time employees and four part-time workers, MEDC said.
Miller Baking plans to move Pretzilla production to its expanding facility at 8313 N. Steven Road. Its downtown Milwaukee headquarters, 1415 N. Fifth St., “no longer has the production capacity to keep up with the demand” for Pretzilla products, MEDC said.
