National Donut Day Rolls Onto Cincinnati’s Fountain Square

Doughnut shops across Greater Cincinnati, along with the Salvation Army, will mark National Donut Day Friday, at Fountain Square to celebrate the treats and raise funds.

From noon-2 p.m., the public is invited to watch celebrity doughnut-stacking competitions, doughnut-sliding races, doughnut balancing and a doughnut hole toss. Area doughnut shops will serve free doughnuts, while the Salvation Army provides free coffee.

The event is co-sponsored by members of the Greater Cincinnati Retail Bakers Association, the Salvation Army of Greater Cincinnati, and BakeMark, a distributor of bakery products and ingredients.
