O.C. Bakery Competing In Food Network’s New ‘Cupcake Wars’

An Orange County bake shop will be featured in a new throwdown-style program dubbed “Cupcake Wars” debuting this summer on Food Network.

In the show, four contestants face off in three elimination challenges, where one of the judges is Southern California’s own Candace Nelson. The Queen of Cupcakes is the founder of Sprinkles Cupcakes, which has a store in Corona del Mar.

Of the more than 30 contestants competing nationwide, one is from Orange County while several others are from Los Angeles. The debut show, slated to air June 15, features two Southern California bakers: Lindsay Morton of Dollhouse Bake Shoppe in Santa Monica and Brett Thompson of Milk in Los Angeles.

On June 29, Alyssa Magliato of the Perfect Circle Cupcakery in Old Towne Orange will compete against Jessica Cuff of The Coffee Shop in Gilbert, Ariz., Michael Centimore of Cupcake Charlies in Mashpee, Mass., and Erica Tucker of Sweet E’s Bake Shoppe in Los Angeles.
