LOS ANGELES — The original location of La Brea Bakery, now a popular retail store selling the bakery’s artisanal bread, baked goods and specialty sandwiches, will remain open for the remainder of 2012 at 624 S. La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles. La Brea Bakery plans to open a new retail storefront location in the same neighborhood in early January 2013.
Originally opened by Nancy Silverton in 1989, La Brea Bakery is known throughout Southern California and the U.S. for making award-winning fresh baked loaves, rolls, baguettes and more. Special for the holiday season, La Brea Bakery’s retail store will offer seasonal favorites like Chocolate Sour Cherry Round, Cranberry Walnut Round, Fruit & Nut Bread and Parker House Rolls. Popular dinner rolls are sold by the ½ dozen and include French, Sourdough, Olive and Rosemary Olive Oil. Frozen Cookie Dough containers also are available in flavors the entire family will enjoy including Shortbread, Ginger, Oatmeal Currant and Chocolate Chip.
Although the restaurant Campanile, its longtime next-door neighbor, will officially close this week, La Brea Bakery’s regular store hours will remain in effect through the end of December. Special holiday hours are as follows:
Wednesday, November 21st 8 am – 6 pm
Thursday, November 22nd (Thanksgiving Day) 8 am – Noon
Monday, December 24th (Christmas Eve) 8 am – 6 pm
Tuesday, December 25th (Christmas Day) Closed
Details about the new La Brea Bakery retail store are not yet available but bakery officials plan to keep the popular and longstanding storefront in the neighborhood.
