TORONTO, ONTARIO – All four Pineridge Bakery manufacturing facilities (Gourmet Baker and Oakrun Farm Bakery) have achieved the highest level of certification possible under the British Retail Consortium (BRC) Global Standard for Food Safety, one of the standards approved by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Pineridge Bakery successfully completed its BRC audits in November and received an "A" rating for its manufacturing practices and food safety standards.

The BRC Global Standards are a leading global safety and quality certification program, widely used throughout the world by suppliers and global retailers. They facilitate standardization of quality, safety, operational criteria and manufacturers' fulfillment of legal obligations, and also help provide protection to the consumer.
The Global Food Safety Initiative is an international non-profit foundation managed by The Consumer Goods Forum. GFSI's mission is to provide continuous improvement in food safety management systems to ensure confidence in the delivery of safe food to consumers worldwide.
