Queen City Cookies Launches New Shortbread Cookie Collections, New Packaging

CINCINNATI: Queen City Cookies is adding new shortbread cookies and also new packaging for its existing collections. Freida’s Delights and Pure Sass are the new collections. Queen’s Iced Delights are available on 15 different gold-foiled, elegantly designed cards, doubling as greeting cards.

Owner Peggy Shannon came up with the new cookies and greeting cards after feedback from customers and a desire to build upon the brand.

“I’m delighted to offer a unique keepsake to cherish long after the cookies have been enjoyed, says Shannon. “These exquisite cards offer the best of gift giving – incredible taste and a well-designed, beautiful product.”

Each of the fifteen cards offers a different design and adventure, explains Shannon. “Elodie, the Duchess, and Peony were named after close friends. Although I wrote the stories on the back of the cards as fanciful expressions of our elephants’ world, in truth, each story is highly personal.” The collections are each represented by a different theme and inspired by from Shannon’s life.

The Queen’s Iced Delights are a butter shortbread cookie with icing in chocolate, white chocolate or Fairy Dust, then hand imprinted with one of 460 antique cookie molds.

Pure Sass cookies are unadorned shortbread abstractly hand printed with one of Queen City’s antique cookie molds.

Freida’s Delights, inspired by the artist Frida Kahlo, are shortbread cookies with edible wafer paper imprinted with brightly colored seasonal and artistic images.

Queen City Cookies are available online at www.queencitycookies.com and at select retail outlets in the Cincinnati area: Nordstrom’s eBar, Joseph-Beth Booksellers, Nest and Picnic and Pantry. The cookies are also available in 14 states, including at Fox and Obel in Chicago, IL and at the gift shop at Blackberry Farm in Walland, TN.
