Retro Cakes Rise In New Corte Madera Bakery

In the culinary world, trends come and go. But some things go on and on. Such is the case with bundt cakes, those round desserts with the big hole in the middle.

Nick Puliz and Dusti Winward are banking — and baking — on the success of this longtime favorite as they last week opened their Nothing Bundt Cakes outlet in Corte Madera.

“We’re 100 percent confident,” said Puliz. “We just opened and people have been raving.”

A bundt cake is a dessert baked in a bundt pan, shaping it into a distinctive ridged ring.

Puliz and Winward (soon to be wed) opened the local Nothing Bundt Cakes shop at 47 Tamal Vista Blvd., in the Market Place at Tamal Vista in Corte Madera, and will host several grand-opening activities. The first event was a Nov. 30 ribbon cutting with Corte Madera Mayor Alexandra Cock and representatives from the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce.

Nothing Bundt Cakes reintroduces this old family favorite with a fresh look that appeals to all ages. Each cake features custom concept decorations.
