A northeast Ohio bakery has bought the former Hostess outlet store site in Riverside.
Paul Schwebel, president of Youngstown-based Schwebel Baking Co., is listed as agent for a holding company that purchased the property at 1306 Brandt Pike on Monday for $320,000. The site closed several years ago as Hostess was going through bankruptcy.
Lee Schwebel, vice president of the company, said the property will be used mostly for distribution. However, he declined to answer any other questions about the company’s plans including whether an outlet store will open at the site.
