Svenhard's Swedish Bakery Will Finally Open Long-Awaited Location In Exeter, CA

Svenhard’s Swedish Bakery will finally open its long-awaited location in Exeter this spring, said David Kunkel, company director of operations.

“Our first baking line should be in operation as soon as March or April employing around 60 people,” he said. The huge, 336,000-square-foot plant in Exeter will grow every year, Kunkel said, as more lines are relocated from the Oakland facility.

The first line will be the 24 sweet-roll variety pack that goes nationwide to big buyers like Wal-Mart, Costco and Sam’s Club, he said. Product lines include bear claws, butter horns and raisin snails.
