ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Village Hearth breads announced the grand prize winner of its Show Us Your Buns Sweepstakes: Alicia Peterson of Bondurant, Iowa. Drawn at random from hundreds of photo entries submitted online at BunSelfie.com, Peterson won a check for $2,000, while 10 others won checks for $100 each.
Peterson knew exactly what she wanted to do with her winnings. "We're going to Disney World! We've been saving for a family vacation to include my parents and our two children, and this will be a great addition". Alicia has been a long-time fan of Village Hearth and noticed a post about the sweepstakes on Facebook.
Sponsored by Pan-O-Gold Baking Co., bakers of Country Hearth and Village Hearth breads, the sweepstakes was open to legal residents in the company's Midwest distribution area, with no purchase required. Beginning in June, entrants were asked to upload a photo that included a package of Village Hearth buns. The sweeps ended Aug. 15, 2014, but photo submissions can still be viewed at BunSelfie.com.
