La Palette Bakery has a reason to celebrate. This year marks its fifth anniversary as a bakery, café and gallery in Watertown, and the business continues to grow with a move into the wholesale market, selling at venues throughout Litchfield County and, more recently, in West Hartford.
“It’s great,” said owner and Woodbury resident Carlos Perez. “The fact that a small town bakery can get out there and establish itself and really compete with all these commercialized places is just remarkable. It just blows my mind.”
The bakery’s wholesale venture began nearly two years ago with New Milford’s Northville Market. Since then its baked goods can be found at locations throughout the region, including Washington Market in Washington Depot, La Cupola Ristorante in Litchfield, the Villarinas locations in Southbury, Newtown and New Milford, J.P. Gifford Market and Catering in Kent and this month at Hall’s Market in West Hartford.
