Pennsylvanian Plant Has Raw Milk Sales Permit Suspended

The Department of Agriculture today announced that the permit for Pasture Maid Creamery in New Castle, Lawrence County, to sell raw milk for human consumption was suspended April 5 after testing found Campylobacter in its raw milk samples. Raw milk is milk that has not been pasteurized.

Saratoga Cheese Corp., the start-up company planning a $41 million
cheese manufacturing plant at the industrial park in Aurelius, NY has made a 10
percent down payment and is moving forward with development plans, Stephen
