Metro Adopts A Local Purchasing Policy

METRO INC. announced the adoption of a local purchasing policy for its agrifood products. This new initiative is part of METRO’s overall process of corporate responsibility and takes effect immediately. The first phase of its implementation, planned until 2015, will get underway in METRO supermarkets in Quebec and will then be adapted for the Ontario market.

Meijer’s Push Into Wisconsin Continues, Proposes Supermarket, Discount Store In Waukesha

Meijer Inc. plans to develop a supermarket and discount store on Waukesha's southeast side. As part of its push into Wisconsin, Meijer has proposed supermarket and discount stores in other Milwaukee-area communities, including Grafton, Wauwatosa, Sussex and Oak Creek. However, the retailer dropped plans for a store in Franklin.
