Borden Dairy Could Expand Dallas Plant, Hire 100

Dallas-based Borden Dairy Co. could expand its Dallas plant off South Lamar Street in Dallas by adding $5 million in equipment and more than 100 new jobs.

The dairy company, which has its headquarters on North Central Expressway, is seeking a 75 percent real property tax abatement for seven years on the plant. The estimated forgone revenue is $478,740.

If approved, Borden has told the city that the company could begin construction in August, with substantial completion in December. The tax abatement is scheduled for a City Council hearing on Aug. 14.
