Coleman Dairy Is Now Hiland Dairy

The iconic Coleman Dairy brand of Little Rock was officially renamed Hiland Dairy on Friday, a move years in the making and first reported by ArkansasBusiness.com.

Coleman Dairy was established in Little Rock in 1862, sold to a dairy cooperative in 1995, and in 2006 became a division of Hiland, owned by Prairie Farms of Carlinville, Ill.

The Coleman plant in Little Rock will continue to function in the same way, producing the same milk and dairy products. But the sign on the door and the milk jugs, as Coleman general manager Mike Flagg told ArkansasBusiness.com in November, will now say Hiland Dairy.

Flagg said Hiland waited to phase out the Coleman brand to allow Coleman Dairy to recognize its 150th anniversary this month.
