Foremost Farms Wins Cheddar & WPC Categories At WDE Contest

BARABOO, WI — Congratulations to Foremost Farms employees at Marshfield and Sparta, Wis., for first-place finishes in their categories at the 2012 World Dairy Expo Championship Dairy Products Contest. Marshfield produced the winning cheddar for this year’s contest and Sparta won the WPC 34% protein category. Foremost Farms Waumandee, Wis., employees picked up a 3rd place in Cheddar and Marshfield also placed 2nd in Aged Cheddar.

Contest judging took place earlier this month. Foremost Farms at Clayton, Wis., placed 3rd in the Reduced Fat category for non-smoked, reduced fat provolone. Foremost Farms Reedsburg also earned a 2nd and 3rd place in the Salted Butter category and Sparta earned a 3rd place in the Nonfat Dried Milk category.

An awards ceremony and auction of first-place entries is scheduled during the week of World Dairy Expo, Oct. 2-6, 2012, at Madison’s Alliant Energy Center.
