Land O'Lakes Donates $100,000 To Mid-Atlantic Area Food Programs

The Land O’Lakes Foundation recently presented direct grants totaling $85,000 to four Pennsylvania-based food banks/feeding programs to help alleviate hunger for families throughout the region, along with additional mid-Atlantic hunger grants totaling $15,000. The donations are part of the Land O’Lakes’ Feeding Our Communities initiative dedicated to helping alleviate hunger locally, nationally and internationally.

Land O’Lakes presented grants to the following organizations:

• Central Pennsylvania Food Bank $30,000
• Project Share of Carlisle $15,000
• Mennonite Central Committee $25,000
• United Way of Pennsylvania $15,000
• Other mid-Atlantic hunger grants – $15,000

“On behalf of Land O’Lakes and the Land O’Lakes Foundation, I am proud to present these contributions to food programs in Pennsylvania which will help combat the devastating effects of hunger in our community,” said Tom Wakefield, member of the Land O’Lakes Board of Directors and the Land O’Lakes Foundation Board of Directors.

“As a national, farmer-owned cooperative, Land O’Lakes is committed to helping the growing number of people struggling to put food on their table, particularly in communities where we have employees and families” said Land O’Lakes Foundation Executive Director Lydia Botham. “These grants, and the Feeding Our Communities initiative provides a unique opportunity for Land O’Lakes to work with local food banks and food shelves who can provide food to families in need.”
