National Milk Mustache ‘Got Milk?’ Campaign Gets Gorgeous To Celebrate 15 Years

WASHINGTON – The National Milk Mustache "got milk?®" Campaign today announced its celebration of 15 years of milk-drinking athletes, actors, models and musicians donning the famed milk mustache. To help celebrate its quincenera, the 15th birthday celebration that many Latina girls celebrate, the campaign has teamed up with Latin actress, singer and Nickelodeon star Victoria Justice to spread the word that milk is an easy way to get calcium, protein and other nutrients teens and tweens need to help them look and feel their best. To celebrate the "got milk?" campaign's milestone and the special events each teen has like homecoming, Justice is encouraging teens to adopt healthy habits to help them look and feel good from the inside out.

"What you put in your body affects how you look and feel, and with such a busy schedule, I try my best to make smart choices, including incorporating nutrient-rich milk in my diet, eating right, and staying active," says 17-year old Justice. "I'm thrilled to be celebrating the 'got milk?' campaign's 15 year anniversary – it sends a healthy message to teens and tweens that drinking milk is an easy way to look and feel their best for big events like quinces and sweet sixteens."

Justice's ad reinforces that what you choose to eat and drink can have a great affect on your health and your appearance. Her ad copy reads: "Look good. Feel Victorious. got milk?"

Fifteen Years of Looking and Feeling Good

Justice knows that making the right food and beverage choices, such as drinking lowfat milk, is important to her beauty regimen. Along with fluids for hydration, milk has beauty boosting nutrients, including vitamin A for healthy skin; protein for strong and healthy nails and hair; and calcium and vitamin D for strong teeth and bones. Plus, eating right, staying active and drinking three glasses of lowfat or fat free milk each day can help teens maintain a healthy weight.

Research has shown that teens who drink milk instead of sugary beverages tend to be leaner than those who drink little or no milk.

"Drinking milk is one of the easiest parts of my beauty routine – and one of my top tips to help teens and tweens look and feel their best. It's packed with nine essential nutrients," Justice said. "I'm encouraging girls to look beyond the cosmetics aisle and make good food choices to help get gorgeous from the inside out."

On a Mission to Inspire Girls Worldwide to Feel Their Best

In addition to the "got milk?" Milk Mustache campaign, Justice is the new face of the United Nations' Foundation's Girl Up program, which aims to give girls the opportunity to channel their energy and compassion to raise awareness and funds for programs of the United Nations that help some of the world's hardest-to-reach adolescent girls. As part of her role with Girl Up, Justice will help raise awareness and funds for adolescent girls in developing countries by educating and teaching them healthy and safe practices, such as the importance of seeing a doctor for yearly checkups and staying in school.
