Upstate Niagara Signs Purchase Agreement for Former Alpina Yogurt Plant

BATAVIA — The Upstate Niagara Milk Cooperative has signed a purchase agreement for the former Alpina Foods yogurt plant that closed in January.

The announcement was made Saturday evening by Chief Executive Officer Larry Webster of Upstate Niagara, during the Genesee County Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards dinner. He said the agreement was signed Thursday.

The Alpina plant, 5011 Ag Park Drive, closed Jan. 18. The facility had originally opened with much fanfare in 2011.
