A big antitrust lawsuit involving dairy giant Dean Foods is now in the hands of a federal judge.
Vermont dairy farmers will receive $30 million under the settlement. The lawsuit alleged that Dean conspired with milk processors to monopolize the retail distribution of milk in the Northeast.
Farmers say Dean maximized its own profits while holding down prices paid to farmers.
