Concord Merchant Elected To Head Massachusetts Cheese Guild

Concord, MA – Peter Lovis of Pepperell, proprietor of The Cheese Shop of Concord for the past 15 years, and one of the founding members of the Massachusetts Cheese Guild, was elected President of the Guild at its annual meeting last month in Boston.

In this role, Lovis will preside over the Guild’s quarterly meetings, and be responsible for keeping the Guild’s board of directors and committee heads “on task” with regard to the Guild’s yearly programming, including the 3rd Annual Massachusetts Cheese Festival, being held at the armory in Somerville in October.

“As the Guild moves into its fifth year, I hope to see the organization continue to grow and to offer expanded benefits to each of its membership classes: Artisans, Trade, and Enthusiasts,” said Lovis.

“My goal for 2017 is to help our Board of Directors to communicate those benefits to members, and to develop leadership within our growing contingent of Artisan members. I look forward to a productive and exciting year as we work together to promote Massachusetts-made cheeses.”

Lovis has a lot on his plate these days. The Cheese Shop of Concord is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a series of in-store classes and other public events, which are in the planning stages and will be announced next month.
