Isle of Man Creamery Aims To Be Big Cheese Stateside

MANX cheese will soon be on sale in America after the Creamery won a contract to supply one of the country’s top retailers.

The British Imported Cheddar contract, won in the face of competition from a number of major cheesmakers in the UK, is to supply cheese to Publix.

The chain, described as a ‘top end retailer’, has 1,400 shops including some in Florida, Georgia and Carolina.

The deal was struck after two representatives from Publix visited the Creamery in May for a tour of the building. They watched production and quality management and sampled the range of cheeses being produced.

Particular favourites were the mature cheddar and vintage cheddar.
