Prosciutto Di Parma Merchandising Contest Reminder

The Consorzio del Prosciutto di Parma wants to help deli owners/managers give Prosciutto di Parma holiday sales an early boost during October and November by inviting them to participate in the Crowning Touch Merchandising Contest. They are offering $8,000 in prize money to recognize the most creative and effective merchandising efforts for the world’s most famous ham — whether sliced to order or pre-sliced. There are three prizes in each of two categories—from $2,000 to 500, plus honorable mentions of $100. The categories are divided into stores belonging to chains of five or fewer, including independents, and stores belonging to larger chains, six and up.

It’s as easy as 1-2-3 to participate in the Crowning Touch Merchandising Contest, says Paolo Tramelli, Marketing Director for the Consorzio. No big photo albums or long questionnaires to fill out. Everything can be done online through a special website that has been set up just for this contest.

• 1. Order the Contest Kit
The Kit contains the rules and judging information, the entry form, wall and table top posters, recipe leaflets for customers in a lucite holder, even a few of the coveted Prosciutto di Parma baseball caps.

• 2. Plan and conduct your promotion
The promotion must take place between October 4 and December 3, 2010, for a minimum of one week. Be sure to photograph all the activities, displays, materials, ads, new menu items, etc. that are part of your Crowning Touch promotion.

• 3. Submit your Entry
Simply come back to the site after your promotion, fill out the short entry form and upload your photos OR enter by mail using the form in the Contest Kit.

“We haven’t forgotten about the distributors,” says Tramelli! If one of their customers is a contest winner — either category, any level — they will receive an American Express gift card for $200, just in time for the holidays.
