Publix Bringing Online Deli Ordering To Central Florida

It's one of the few things that shoppers say takes the pleasure out of Publix: The sometimes-agonizing wait for lunch meat or cheese at the deli.

Now that line might get shorter for customers with computers and smart phones because Publix has begun rolling out online ordering in Central Florida.

At least one store, on Hunt Club Boulevard in Apopka, began offering the service Monday.

According to Publix's website, about 20 stores in the Orlando area now offer it, many of them in suburban areas. Stores closest to downtown Orlando – including those in College Park, downtown Orlando and on Shine Avenue and State Road 50 – do not. Stores in Altamonte Springs and Casselberry are among those that are now offering the service, Publix's website said.
