Rogue Creamery And Lillie Belle Host Winner of Oregon Bounty Cuisinternship Contest

Central Point, OR — Rogue Creamery and Lillie Belle Farms Chocolate have been selected to represent Oregon artisan food providers in the Oregon Bounty statewide tourism promotion. From May 24th – 28th they will host the winner of the Oregon Bounty Cuisinternship Contest at the historic Rogue Creamery.

Lisa Graff, pictured here, a children’s book author from New York, lives in a tiny apartment in Brooklyn, New York; and “always dreamed that it would be fun to make my own cheese and chocolate”. She won the all-expense-paid trip to become a culinary artisan in Southern Oregon with chocolatier Jeff Shepherd of Lillie Belle Farms and cheesemakers David Gremmels and Cary Bryant of Rogue Creamery.

In the Cuisinternship at Lillie Belle, Lisa will tour Lillie Belle‘s Certified Organic Farm in Southern Oregon’s beautiful Applegate Valley and learn about chocolate making including molding, production and enrobing. At Rogue Creamery, she will learn how to make cheese, tour the picturesque dairy on the banks of the Rogue River, learn how to milk a cow, experience a farmers market, participate in a special cheese tasting of award winning cheeses and learn the fundamentals about how to become a world class cheese monger.” One of my seven goals in life is to milk a cow; Ican’t wait to try everything when I get to Oregon”, said Lisa.

Lisa is one of seven winners selected to spend one week shadowing an expert in their field of culinary crafts. The Cuisinternship was offered in these categories: Artisan Food Producer (Cheese/Chocolate), Brewmaster, Chef, Rancher, Fisherman, Winemaker and Distiller. Foodies entered to win a trip to Oregon for the opportunity to be a culinary artisan for one week by submitting a short video showing why they were the best candidate.

Oregon Bounty is a culinary tourism promotion that celebrates what makes Oregon taste so good: great food, outstanding wine, beer and spirits, and unforgettable travel experiences. Oregon Bounty shows how visitors can experience Oregon’s culinary treasures through the artisans who create the products.
