Three Awards For Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company

London, UK – Point Reyes Farmstead Cheese Company was awarded three awards at the 30th annual World Cheese Awards at Tobacco Dock in London.  Forming part of this year’s Taste of London Festive Edition, the 30th anniversary edition of the awards saw 3,001 entries from a record-breaking 35 different countries.  Point Reyes Toma earned a Bronze Award and Original Blue won a Silver Award.  Point Reyes Bay Blue garnered the prestigious, best of category, Super Gold Award, designating it one of the World’s best cheeses of the year.

Entries made their way by road, rail, air and sea, from nations including Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Columbia and South Africa. The 230-strong judging panel brought together more nations than ever before, to taste, nose and grade all 3,001 cheeses in a single day, giving Bronze, Silver, Gold and Super Gold awards to winning cheeses.   “There are so many outstanding cheeses in this global competition, it is a complete honor to come away with three awards… and of course, we are especially thrilled Bay Blue won Super Gold.” said Head Cheese Maker, Kuba Hemmerling.  Co-Owner Lynn Giacomini Stray added, “Competing on the world stage and being recognized for excellence makes us so proud.  We work incredibly hard to make the highest quality cheese; these awards are a testament to our focus and commitment.”
