BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. — Ambius, www.ambius.com, the global interior landscaping leader, was honored with second place for its innovative design at the 24th Annual Spring Garden Show held at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California in late April. Considered one of the most highly anticipated garden shows on the West Coast, more than 50,000 people attend this annual event. Ambius was recognized as an overall winner for the company’s ability to design interior landscaping that provides a pleasant, tranquil environment in which to move, work or relax.
This year's theme, “The Garden as Art,” featured more than 75 vendor displays that represented a specific art piece, an artist or a period of art. Chris Karl, www.ambius.com/chris, a design specialist for Ambius, who creates custom floral displays, interior landscaping design and commercial holiday décor in the Southern California area, chose Henri Matisse as his inspiration, an artist known for his expression of color.
“I replicated Matisse’s expressive color theme into the garden we created with specific consideration as to how to incorporate our range of design and plant services for interior businesses, as well as our ambient scenting, which is very popular,” said Karl. “We created an environment that offered one path to an office space and another to a more relaxed, living space that could serve as a lobby or break room. Our focus in designing this display was to keep true to the Ambius mission to create harmonious surroundings that foster employee well-being. We are very excited to win this award as it affirms that we accomplished that goal within the theme of the event.”
The Ambius display highlighted the full range of what the company’s designers can do for an environment, including adding a beautiful living wall filled with green plants, a soothing water treatment and ambient scenting that offers signature aromas unique to each business.
