Dutch Flower Awards For Beyond Chrysant, SV.CO & Prim'Rose

The winners of the Dutch Flower Awards were announced at the FloraHolland Trade Fair on Thursday 7 November: Beyond Chrysant, SV.CO and Prim’Rose. Chrysanthemum growers Beyond Chrysant from Hoek van Holland stand out as the Dutch Flower Group's (DFG) most valuable cut flower supplier. This year, the plant supplier that has the most added value is SV.CO from Maasdijk. DFG announced carnation growers Prim’Rose, a company established in Morocco, as the most valuable foreign supplier this year.

For the twelfth year in a row, the colourful family of businesses, international market leader in the marketing and sourcing of flowers, bouquets and plants, presented the Dutch Flower Awards to its chain partners.

On the afternoon of Thursday 7 November, CEO Marco van Zijverden announced the nominees and the ultimate winners in a fitting manner at the DFG stand at the FloraHolland Trade Fair Aalsmeer.

15% growth for DFG this year – partnerships are a must

Van Zijverden explained the developments that have been underway at Dutch Flower Group (DFG). “This year our growth will come to around 15%. This means that the joint turnover of our 30 businesses is expected to exceed €1.2 billion this year.”

Van Zijverden drew attention to the fact that the horticultural sector has encountered many external factors that increase the pressure on the chain, but DFG believes it has the answer to this. “We will look for added value in the chain with growers and our customers in an open and transparent manner, even more so than before, by sharing and exchanging information, but also by entering into strong partnerships to work together to develop growth.”

Winning growers: partnership awarded The three winners were very happy with the award with which they were presented. "It is truly fantastic" says Wouter Duijvesteijn of Beyond Chrysant from Hoek van Holland. For SV.CO from Maasdijk, receiving the award symbolises that the investments it has made with DFG family member Hamiplant have been recognised. “It was really great to win this prize”. A proud Ali Bennani-Smires explained that “all 600 employees at the Prim’Rose nursery in Casablanca were the actual winners of this prize”.

Praise for other nominees

Marco van Zijverden had also explicitly expressed his appreciation for the other six nominees in his speech, saying: “all nominees are actually winners” — referring to Meewisse Roses, P.J. Noordam V.O.F., V.C. Hooftman Boomkwekerij, Levoplant, Latitude O Farms and Lanoyce Nurseries. Each of these six top suppliers received a certificate in recognition of their nomination.
