Green Bay Profit Blast To Highlight Design Profitability, Online Selling

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Society of American Florists' 1-Day Profit Blast is heading to the cool waters of Green Bay, Wisconsin, on Sunday, July 15. Sponsored by the Bill Doran Company, the Green Bay event covers design profitability, online selling, technology and management education in an eight-hour program along with a Supplier Showcase where floral industry vendors share their newest products.

"This is an easy, one-day gathering that everyone should take in," said Jenny Behlings, AAF, AIFD, PFCI, SDCF, of Jenny's Floral in Custer, South Dakota, who will emcee the program. "Learning a better way is what it's all about."

Two new presentations are on the line up for this 1-Day Profit Blast: "M3: Money Making Mechanics" a program sponsored by Syndicate Sales and presented by Jody McLeod, AIFD, CFD, NCCPF, owner of Annie V's Floral Design Studio in Clayton, North Carolina and Derek C. Woodruff, AIFD, CFD, CF, PFCI, owner of the Floral Underground in Traverse City, Michigan; and "Pick Me! Stand Out and Sell More Online" led by Josh Glass, AAF, vice president of Peoples Flower Shops in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Returning to the Profit Blast stage are Paul Goodman, MBA, CPA, PFCI, president of Floral Finance Business Services, with "A Roadmap for Profitable Deliveries," and Tim Huckabee, president of FloralStrategies, LLC, with "Smart Selling."

"Not only is this a chance to learn to help you as a retailer make a profit, but it also really helps us as retail florists to know that we're not out there alone," Behlings said pointing to the networking time in the schedule during the continental breakfast, as well as the refreshment breaks and lunch sponsored by Hortica. "Every shop is experiencing some of the same day-to-day roadblocks and challenges that we're running into — take the time to visit with your peers and learn from them. Why try to reinvent the wheel?"

Since the fee for additional registrants from the same company is $99, Behlings recommends retail florists use the event as learning experience for staff. "Giving your employees the chance to come and soak up new and exciting information is nothing but a win-win for you as an employer," she noted. "They will come away with new ideas, inspiration and re-energized to get to work and create a better environment not only for you and the rest of your staff, but for your customers to experience. Bring one, bring all."

The cut-off date for guaranteeing the SAF room rate at the 1-Day Profit Blast hotel in Green Bay is
June 23. July 10 is the deadline for early-bird registration, which saves you $60 and is $139 for members and $189 for non-members — and just $99 for additional participants from the same company. Get more information and register today at safnow.org/1-day-profit-blast.
