IFTF On Track To Becoming The World Floriculture Industry Expo

Vijfhuizen – A fast growing number of international trade visitors is currently signing up to visit the IFTF Expo 2011, to be held in Holland from November 2 to 4 of this year. Almost 3000 – mainly international- visitors have pre-registered to date. Compared to last year, a tremendous increase of almost 500%! The second edition of this new International Floriculture Trade Fair is therefore promising to be an exciting event for everybody who makes a living in the production and trade of flowers and plants.

With a 30% increase in exhibiting companies this year, the plan to make IFTF a world floriculture trade fair, is getting closer to reality. An important feature is the successful accomplishment to diversify the product profile of the fair to flowering and non flowering potted plants. Many breeders of indoor plants will be exhibiting this year as well, next to the already long list of participating breeders of cut flowers. Furthermore growers from e.g. Ecuador, Kenya, Ethiopia, Sri Lanka and Taiwan will exhibit through national pavilions. Also new is the participation of a considerable number of important dutch flower & plant exporters who decided to join in this year’s edition. Until today,a total of 193 companies have decided to exhibit in the second edition of IFTF and the number will certainly exceed the 200, as has been expected.

Two founding HortiWeek Partners, FloraHolland Trade Fair and IFTF, welcomed the decision last year of Horti Fair (the third founding HortiWeek partner) to join the November dates as well. A decision which will this year prove to be to everybody's advantage, both for exhibitors and visitors. As a result joint efforts have led to a continiously running 15 minute bus shuttle service in between the three exhibitions, to minimize loss of travel time of visitors. Also easy entry procedures to the three different expo’s have been agreed to and will lead to more comfort for all visitors.
