Learn The Art Of Japanese Flower Arranging

Are you curious about the art of Japanese flower arranging known as Ikebana?
Then you might want to check out the Creative Art Of Ikebana, an annual
exhibition and tea presented by Columbia Chapter 182 of Ikebana International on
Wednesday (see box).

The Columbia group is one of 165 chapters of Ikebana International in 60
countries worldwide. Ikebana International, founded in 1956 and headquartered in
Tokyo, is dedicated to the study and promotion of the art of Japanese flower
arranging. Representing all schools of Ikebana, the organization has more than
8,500 members. English is the official language. “Friendship through Flowers” is
the motto.

Jean Davis, Ikebana teacher and chair of the 2010 Ikebana exhibition in
