May 1 Is Deadline For AFE Scholarship Applications

The deadline is May 1 for floriculture/horticulture students to submit
applications for more than 18 scholarships offered by the American Floral
Endowment (AFE). AFEs scholarship chairman PJ Ellison encourages students to
apply early The need for financial support for students is greater than ever,
and AFE is committed to helping students pursue their careers in the
floriculture/horticulture industry thanks to the generosity of the individuals
and organizations who established these important scholarship funds, says
Ellison.

AFE received more applications for scholarships than ever before in 2009, says
AFE Manager Debi Aker. Seventeen students received scholarships totaling more
than $15,000. Were very pleased that more funds are available for 2010/2011,
Aker says. Students are tomorrows leaders, and an investment to their future
is an investment toward a stronger and prosperous industry. Complete
descriptions of each AFE scholarship offered, along with the application and
requirements can be found at

All applications must be received by May 1, 2010.
