Orchid Production Becomes Less Profitable For Taiwan

Taiwan, nicknamed 'the kingdom of the orchid', is known for its cultivation of the world-famous Phalaenopsis, the 'moth orchid'.

Taiwanese orchid farmers invested in China because of the cheap land and low wages for labourers. Under their business model, their Taiwanese contact accepted the order, and the flowers were shipped from China.

Since China has never grown moth orchids; with the rise of the economy the elegant flower gradually attracted attention in the Chinese flower market.
