J. van Egmond & Zn and Royal Van Zanten have signed an agreement transferring the sales rights of Limonium sinuatum (Statice) Crystal Dark Blue® to Royal Van Zanten. As of April 2012 the sales of plant material of this variety will be continued through Royal Van Zanten. The sales of the varieties Crystal Sky Blue® and Crystal Pink® as well as several selections will also be transferred to Royal Van Zanten.
Crystal Dark Blue® is a darkblue Statice that covers 67% of the total Statice supply at FloraHolland auctions. This market-leading position has been established by a combination of unique variety characteristics of stem quality, production and sufficient length/weight in the 2nd/3rd flush.
For J. van Egmond & Zn the agreement fits in their stategy of further focus on plant material production of Lisianthus and good cultivation support of her customers. J. van Egmond & Zn selects plant material of Lisianthus with 7 grading machines. Each plant is scanned separately by camera on leaf-surface and length. The advantage for the grower is more uniform plant material, more precise scheduling, a more uniform product and less labor in bunching.
