Sheridan Nurseries Revels In Receiving Prestigious Award

GEORGETOWN, ONTARIO — Canada's largest garden centre retailer and grower, Sheridan Nurseries, has received the prestigious accolade of International Grower of the Year by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH).

Beating off strong competition from renowned international horticultural companies, Sheridan Nurseries has been awarded the AIPH's Golden Rose in the annual International Grower of the Year 2012 competition.

Karl E. Stensson, President at Sheridan Nurseries said: "To receive an award of this stature is truly a magnificent honour for Sheridan Nurseries. This award is a result of passion, commitment and dedication by our entire team to achieve excellence across all areas of our business. Sheridan Nurseries was pre-selected by the AIPH International Jury to represent Canada in the annual Election of the International Grower of the Year contest after winning the impressive national Royal Bank of Canada Grower of the Year Award 2012 in February. In both award categories, the company was recognized for its innovative emphasis on new plant varieties each year, excellent human resource and educational policies, high quality and environmental standards, as well as its sustainable production policy and market place position.

This award comes just as Sheridan Nurseries is due to embark on its 100th year in business in 2013.

As one of the few family owned businesses still operating in Canada after 100 years, we believe our success has become intrinsically linked to our standards of excellence and strong brand presence within the sector. I believe this award is a reflection of our company values and hard work over the last century. Here's to another 100 years!"
