LIME SPRINGS — Lime Springs Beef will open soon at 4614 Highway 63 in Lime Springs and will be looking to hire an additional 60-70 workers in all areas of the business, said Paul Savage, sales and marketing manager.
The plant is currently under construction and is scheduled to open early in 2015, Savage said. The company is owned by about 30 local Iowa farmers, some of whom raise and feed about 110,000 Angus cattle each year, he said.
“Our cattle never leave the family farms, they are fed by the farms that raise them and we do not purchase cattle from corporate feed lots,” he said. “Our goal and selling highlights are that we raise, feed and harvest all our cattle within a 100-mile radius of Lime Springs.
