Moo & Oink Had A Blast At The WGN Back-To-School Kids Fair

For the first time in its history, Moo & Oink participated in the annual WGN Back-to-School Kid’s Fair, held Friday, Aug. 10, at the WGN Studios.Fairgoers took photos with Moo and his friend Oink, the official mascots of Moo & Oink.

Moo & Oink grilled on site and served more than a thousand samples of Beef Breakfast Sausage, Pork Breakfast Sausage, and Moo Dogs (Hot Dogs). Kids also received Moo & Oink notebooks and stickers.

More than 3,000 people attended the 11th annual Kid’s Fair.The WGN Morning News crew broadcasted live from the event which featured food, fun, health screenings, safety tips and everything parents need to get kids ready for school.

Twenty eight popular Moo & Oink products are on grocery shelves at more than270 stores throughout Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin and Michigan including Jewel, Super Wal-mart, Ultra, Food 4 Less and Save-a-Lot.

Moo & Oink’s most popular product is Rib Tips. Other popular Moo & Oink BBQ products are turkey links, beef links, pork links, Moo Burgers, Moo Dogs and High 5 BBQ Sauce. Coming to grocery shelves in Sept. are more products including BBQ sprinkles, chitterlings, Moo & Oink Hot Sauce and Moo & Oink Wing Sauce.

Moo and Oink, LLC, is a joint venture between Best Chicago Meat Co., LLC, and Dutch Farms, Inc.

“We were very happy and excited to be involved,” said Dave Van Kampen, president and COO of Best Chicago Meat Company. “Despite the intermittent rain, the turn-out was great.”
