Park Farms Workers Approve New Union Deal

CANTON — The union representing Park Farms workers has approved a new contract as the company transitions to Case Farms.

Members of Cleveland-based United Food and Commercial Workers Local 880 voted on the new pact Saturday. The vote total was not released.

The deal is expected to lead to Case Farms reopening the plant next month. Case Farms has said it continues working on an agreement to purchase the assets of Park Farms. Both companies process poultry and supply retail stores.

Park Farms notified state officials in December that it planned to lay off its 225 employees on Friday.
