A Mitchell couple received the first ever Pork Promoter of the Year award from the South Dakota Pork Producers Council.
Brad and Peggy Greenway, of Mitchell, were among those recognized by the council on Jan. 15 during its 46th Annual Pork Congress at the Sioux Falls Ramkota Hotel and Exhibit Hall, according to a press release.
The council recognized "several outstanding individuals, organizations and businesses for their dedication to the pork industry" during the event, according to the press release from the council, including the Greenways. The Pork Promoter of the Year award is presented to an individual or group who has given outstanding media coverage to pork industry news and events in South Dakota, according to the council.
