Thanksgiving Countdown: Supermarket Chefs, Help Lines To The Rescue

Whether it's your first turkey or your fortieth, you might have a cooking question about Thanksgiving dinner. Store chefs at ShopRite and Wegman's are offering answers.

A team of chefs from Shop Rite's Culinary Workshop, who began taking calls yesterday, will even be available Thanksgiving day for last-minute questions. Those calling in at (800) 746-7748 (that's 800-SHOPRITE) should ask for the chef on call, who can provide Thanksgiving meal preparation tips and kitchen-tested holiday recipes.

Lines will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today, noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, and 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Thanksgiving.

At Wegmans, the #Turkey911 Twitter chat will return for its second year, with executive chef Mark Makovec offering online Thanksgiving help to home cooks from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today through Wednesday.
