Twin Falls Meat Company Gears Up For The Holidays

TWIN FALLS – Crates of smoked turkey, boxed and waiting for pickup, sat in the shipping and receiving room at Independent Meat on Friday.

The last two months of the year are the only times the company has poultry at the meat-processing facility in south Twin Falls. Pork, on the other hand, is a staple in demand all year at the 108-year-old plant.

The season is picking up, said sales and distribution manager John Howard.

“Some of our guys will be working six days a week,” he said.

Besides the turkeys, which are sold at local grocery stores, Howard said, people love their Christmas hams.
