Tyson Donates 30,000 Lbs Of Meat To Mid-Michigan Food Bank

LANSING – Tyson Foods Inc. donated 30,000 pounds of chicken and beef to the Mid-Michigan Food Bank today.

The Springdale, Ark.-based company donated the meat as a prize for a video contest that a recent Michigan State University graduate, Sonny Geha, 23, of Grosse Pointe, entered. His three-minute video, which featured the Mid-Michigan Food Bank, won fourth place.

"It's tremendous," said Dave Karr, food bank director. "It's a big donation. If we get two pallets, that's a lot. To get a semi load is huge."
