Salinas, CA – Colorful Harvest, one of the faster growing fresh produce companies on the west coast, has announced the addition of a new Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance, Mr. Mario Martinez.
“Mario is a seasoned professional. He brings to the position an excellent academic background and many years of experience in the field of food safety,” said Doug Ranno, Colorful Harvest’s COO and managing partner. “Mario will be instrumental in growing our food safety program to keep pace with the rapid growth of our company,” Ranno said.
Mr. Martinez, a graduate of California State Polytechnic Institute, Pomona, has received specialized food safety and quality assurance training over the course of his career, and has food safety experience at all levels of production. He has developed international total quality & food safety systems with managers from the field, to the cooler, to the packing facilities. “Mario has managed food safety programs for a variety of crops in many growing regions, and that fits our highly diversified operation,” said Ranno.
Mr. Martinez will coordinate the activities of Colorful Harvest’s in-house food safety team along with independent food safety laboratories and inspectors.
