Crunch Pak Completes Plant Expansion

CASHMERE, Wash. — Just in time for fall harvest, Crunch Pak completed an expansion at its Cashmere, Wash., plant that will allow the company to better serve its customers and meet the growing consumer demand for fresh sliced apple products.

The expansion, started in February, expanded the company’s processing and loading facility space by 39,000 square feet, said company President and CEO John Graden.  Half of the expanded space will be used for finished product storage and shipping and the rest for processing.

The expanded space will allow the company to handle approximately 1 million pounds of raw product per week.  Also part of the expansion was the addition of six loading docks that enable the company to facilitate all levels of orders, large and small.

Crunch Pak employs 750 people at the plant and will increase that number to 800 later this fall.

Diane Carson, one of the company’s original founders and current board chairman, said, “We are excited about the efficiencies and new opportunities that the plant expansion affords.  We want to thank our employees as well as all the businesses involved in completing this project.”

Graden added his appreciation as well, specifically to the city of Cashmere employees and officials for their continued support of Crunch Pak.

“Their cooperation during construction was instrumental in getting the project completed on time,” Graden said.
