Domex Superfresh Growers Launched Full-Featured Mobile Site

Yakima, WA. – Domex Superfresh Growers® has demonstrated its continued leadership in connecting growers to consumers by announcing the launch of a full-featured mobile website. “With smartphones representing over 37% of all cell phones and the amount of data accessed being up by a whopping 89% in the past year, we felt it was time to reinvest in our website in preparation for what is quickly becoming the next generation of the internet”, notes Loren Queen, marketing and communications manager. Importantly, about 25% of smartphone owners use their phone as their primary means of accessing the web while 70% of owners surf the web daily according to the Pew Internet and American Life Project. “Our new mobile site gives us the ability to deliver helpful information consumers can use when making decisions at the point of purchase. We can tell them about the variety, recipes and the like, but perhaps more importantly, we can also show them pictures and video of the growers and the orchards where the fruit is grown. Consumers want to know who is growing their food. They want to feel connected to the grower. That’s what’s really driving the local movement”, notes Queen.

Superfresh Growers is fully integrating QR codes, short for quick response, into all of their packaging and point of sale materials. When scanned by a smartphone or tablet-type computer the code can lead to a website, pdf file, or video. The new Superfresh Growers mobile website can determine the type of device being used and format the information to fit that device. “This means that no matter where you are, you can have full access to one of the industry’s most advanced and informative websites at your fingertips”, says Queen. “Anything you need to know about apples, pears or cherries is right there, whether you are at your desk or in the produce aisle”, he concludes.
