Fresh Produce & Floral Council To Announce 2014 Board Of Directors At Annual Dinner Dance

LA MIRADA, CA – The Fresh Produce & Floral Council (FPFC) will introduce the 2014 Board of Directors to its membership at the Annual Dinner Dance, Saturday, January 25, 2014 at the Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena, CA.

More than 500 industry professionals are expected to attend Dinner Dance, which will be styled as a “Party at Studio 54,” a disco theme featuring music from The Groove.

The evening’s program will also include the formal introduction of the Council’s 2014 Board of Directors, who began their terms on January 1.  Last year’s Chair, Mike Casazza of Apio/Eat Smart, will pass the gavel to 2014 Chair Rich Van Valkenburg of Van Valkenburg and Associates.  Casazza will remain a member of the Board’s Executive Committee as the Immediate Past Chairman, with Rick Cruz of Vons/A Safeway Company serving as Past Chair Representative, and Harland Heath of Heath & Lejeune continuing to serve as Honorary Past Chair Representative.

Dinner Dance attendees will also be introduced to 2014 Chairman Elect Brad Martin of Perimeter Sales & Merchandising, and Treasurer/Secretary Marvin Quebec of Quebec Distributing Co.  Carissa Mace will continue to serve as Chief Staff Officer and President of the Council.

In addition to the Executive Committee, the industry will be introduced to the following elected directors who will serve in 2014:  Andrew Bivens, Westlake Produce Company; Mark Carroll, Gelson’s/Mayfair Markets; Brian Cook, San Miguel Produce; Greg Corrigan, Raley’s Supermarkets; Kelly Craner, B & C Fresh Sales; Kent Kuwata, Smart & Final Corp.; Scott Leimkuhler, Progressive Produce Corp.; Rick Montoya, Ready Pac; Marta Moreno, Rose Gonzales Plants; Jeff Oberman, United Fresh Produce Association; Jennifer Pelayo, Advantage Sales & Marketing; Chris Robinson, The Pinery, LLC; Roger Schroeder, Stater Bros. Markets; Ken Silveira, Mastronardi Produce; and Connie Stukenberg, CS, Sales & Marketing for Results.

The FPFC will also recognize the service of Jeff Miller of Westlake Produce Company, Dave Howald of the California Avocado Association and Debbie Jackson who have retired from the Board.

Door prizes will be awarded throughout the program, as well.  Prizes include gift cards, electronics and cash, including the $20,000 grand prize.  The FPFC has also added a new $500 gift card drawing exclusively for attendees who stay through the first band break at 9:30 pm.
